Pentair CCP320 filter: issues with cleaning

My PB told me to soak them for 24 hours in 50:1 MA at the end of the season. Long before TFP, the PB simply must have been right, Right ?


But 6.5 years later, the carts were as clean as new, outside of some fading of the rubber/plastic housing. They were going strong when we moved at 8.5 years.

I didn't MA bath my new carts last year because we didn't use it alot with no patio. From here on out I will do as I always did.

It's rumored that MA can fuse the cartridges solid if metals are present so I don't reccomend it unless that's not a concern for the member. Or do a TSP soak first, then the MA.

Ah, 50:1. That's sounds pretty mello. Hard to dispute your track record. I had purchased a steel basin just for soaking my cartridges, but I only used it once. I'll give it some thought. The pool's first set lasted maybe 5 years or so. Who knows what the pool guys were doing to it before I bought the house and fired 'em. They were washing them four times a year, because it was quick cash for them. I go once a year and even then it barely needs it. I skipped a year once.
