My Amerlite fixture seems to have failed and is letting water in the fixture.
I find it it CRAZY that a pool light fixture to replace this is between $400 to $1200!
People seem to be ok with this. How is there not multitudes of $150 options out there.
Has anyone found a reasonable alternative. I am tired of these jacked up prices.
Growing up our skimmer and filter baskets were stainless steel. Now... anyway, enough is enough.

Is this a good old incandescent-style fixture? Remove it from the pool, take the lens off, and dry it out. It will probably be just fine. Put a new bulb in it and a new gasket on it (I like to use a tiny smear of lubricant on the seal to help seal it up) and you should be good to go.

The problem is that you are putting a luxury high-voltage appliance in the highly-conductive water and then throwing in your family. Just the UL and CSA (Canadian) certifications cost a small fortune to the manufacturer.
