Pebble covered my bubbler

Hello,
If you have read my last thread, the PB, tile company, and mason came through for me and redid some of the tile on my water feature so that it is acceptable now (not nearly as good as I had expected, but acceptable none the less...) Anyway, we moved on to shooting interior and the pebble guys were out here yesterday, and acid wash this AM.. now filling the pool. Only to realize this evening that the pebble guys completely covered my bubbler. I quickly shot a text message to PB once I realized and now waiting to hear back. Can this even be fixed? The bubbler is completely covered as in I can't even see where it used to be. I have a "before photo" that we can use to triangulate the bubbler but would still be hunting in the dark. I'm assuming they would have to chip out the plaster and replaster it.... but now it's being covered with water so I have to wait the 28 days? Then would the new pebble even match the rest of the finish? Seems as though I can't get any breaks with this job.

sigh......................really guys? REALLY???

Do NOT stop the flow of water into the pool. If you do it will leave a ring at the level that is almost impossible to get rid of.

I don't know when they should find the bubbler. I am guessing it should be like you say and wait for the 28 day curing process to be done. They will have to chip off the whole shelf for me as there is no way they find the bubbler without exploring with a couple of holes. The patches will never match :( Now IF they can find the bubbler that will be great. Ask them how they will go about finding it without holes made looking for it.

I am also going to ask @AQUA~HOLICS if he has any ideas. He does pools for a living so...............he might have run into this problem once.

PB says pebble guys want to drain the pool to the bubbler (2nd step height) on Friday and chip out around the bubbler, patch around it, acid wash, then refill the pool. This would mean that the pool was filled for only 48-72 hrs before having the water level lowered below tile line.

Sorry for the late response, if I’m understanding the situation correctly I see the repair as the following, chipping out the plaster around the bubbler and raising it so to be flush with the existing plaster then patched as best as can be in order to match.

Yes thank you that is what they are doing now, but I guess my question would be: is there harm in doing this so soon after the plaster has been applied? They drained it down about half way and want us to wait 6 hours to fill to allow dry time. Is this going to affect the finish negatively?

It seems that the correction is being done in the best way possible for the situation at hand. Very little likelihood that a problem will arise in the future. I would advise to keep a small amount of water filling the pool so a bathtub ring does not appear but still keeps the repair exposed for the amount of time needed.

Ok thank you for the great info, I appreciate it. We finished the pool plaster, they fixed the bubbler and did a fairly good job. Now we noticed two more things: cracks in the plaster finish and cracks along the tile grout line. There are about 8 plaster cracks along the edge of the baja shelf (some are hairline and some are a little bigger like the picture) Are these normally expected? PB didnt seem to care when brought up.

In the first picture of the tile grout cracking at the tile line this is common and not a question of if it will happen but when it will happen.
In the second picture, I am not use to seeing cracks of any type in the plaster applications final appearance.

Thank you. Should I have the tile grout repaired? This is supposed to be brand new grout so Im just concerned that its cracking already. I also zoomed in the photo of the plaster crack

The crack in the grout may be from two different situations, one being that the grout is shrinking from loosing the water moisture in the mix.
Second may be from movement of the coping above it.
I would wait and see how much more if any it continues to crack.
The crack in the plaster could possibly lead to future issues and may need to be corrected.
