Pea soup

Hello all, looking for any help please? I looked after a large (75m) pool with very few problems for 5 or 6 years so I am not new BUT. I have a new, above ground pool, just filled including some bleach to help. Started okay but slowly got much worse. Yesterday I shocked the pool, added flocculant and checked the pH, good. I was hoping to vacuum all the algae etc today but it is like pea soup from top to bottom, can't see anything! With a sort of scum on top. Not used yet, filter every day. Photo soon if needed.

I'll just chime in here. Floc? Oh no, don't let that get into the filter. Hope you can vac to waste. What are your testing methods.

7m x 3m Intex pool which includes sand filter and pump. I just filled using some bleach. Finally managed to get the correct level for pH. Shocked and flocculant, loads of floating algae. Photos soon.
