Our pool patio build starts next week and our contractor needs us to decide between smooth or textured pavers. We are using EP Henry’s Bristol (Bristol Stone®) line. I’d love to hear any opinions on these options. Thanks!
Hello Rlusby.... in my opinion anything around a pool benefits from texture. Tile that is smooth can sometimes be slippery when wet.

Totally a personal preference decision, however here are a couple things to consider:
1) what is your coping texture, and do you want the coping to blend in with your deck? ( in my case the coping was smooth, and if i went with the textured pavers, it would not feel like the same product as the coping, opposite the look i wanted)
2) How much texture is it? I had some pavers in the past that were textured to be like cobbles, all my patio furniture would rock on high spots.
