Patching a leak in the deep end

I've got a leak in my deep end that I need to patch. I have some of the A + B epoxy that I'd like to use. I have used the epoxy to patch a leak in my shallow end with out a problem, but am trying to figure out how to do it in the deep end. Without anything to weight me down, it's very difficult to stay down long enough to apply the epoxy. Does anyone who's done this before have any insight?

How deep is deep? Do you have anyone you trust that could hold your legs/feet to help keep you down?

Do you know anyone with diver equipment? Do you have any weights you can rig a way to hold onto?

It's almost 10 feet. I've got a couple teenage sons who might be able to help.

Don't have any weights or access to anyone with diving equipment.

10 feet?? Yeah, NO! LOL That is a LOT of breath holding. You best bet might be to find someone that dives to do it.

Yeah that's kinda the direction I was leaning. Hopefully I can find a local pool company that has the necessary equipment. I'd like to avoid the big chain leak detection companies.

NO! Find someone from a dive shop that will do it for the cost of a air tank! A leak detection person will not patch it. They will only tell you where it is.

I think there's only one dive shop in town. Do dive shops typically do leak repairs? Last time I had a leak I used a pool company, but it cost me $300.

I know my pool builder (wo was essentially a one man company) had diving equipment for deep end repairs.

I see your in Augusta. He was in the Gilbert SC area. I have no idea if he'd work in Augusta. PM me if you'd like the contact.

You never know! If you were able to do the other one then you should be able to show them how to do it on this one. They might want to do just for using your pool to practice in or for a few bucks! I will ask anyone, anything (just ask my poor husband LOL) and have found most people being open to doing something to help someone out!
