We are at a rental in Canada that has a hot tub serviced weekly, last done on Thursday. We arrived Saturday.
I actually brought test strips , which I never did, never even considered before I had a hot tub at a rental of my own and experienced the problems.
The first day the test strip showed all was well but after one use the bromine was 0 and it was very cloudy. ( Two adults and 3 kids used it, without showering first ).
The bromine never bounced back from the floater. Then there were little white globule patches.
I asked the cleaner and she brought packets of something called Spa Guard Spa Lite, MPS as near as I can tell. “ oxidizer, not disinfectant” plus clarifier. With complete instructions. 3 Tbs , says it treats up to a 500 gallon spa.
I love these and wish they were sold here for our guests.
The cleaner said we must ONLY use if the water was cloudy. ( I’m guessing otherwise the sanitizer level with this addition could get too high.)
In the US there is something similar called Sea Klear shock oxidizer pods. MPS.
Has anyone used these?
