What a great community for pool owners. Anybody have any leads on sub contractors or pool designers near Lodi, Ca?

These forums are giving me the inspiration and confidence to go owner-build on a new in ground pool.

Local pool builder is quoting $72000 for a 100 foot perimeter pool only no hot tub with pebblefina, 3 Led lights, 2 bubblers, 3 - 18" ledge waterfalls, and 500 sq feet of raised patio with stamped and colored concrete with stacked stone face.

No info about pool equipment yet.

HI! What a nerve wreaking time you are facing! Fun but also very stressful!

What we suggest is to find ONE good trade person that you know does good work. It could be electric or plumping but talk to them about other trades. They all know each other for the most part and know who does good work and who to stay away from. One will lead to another until you have your whole crew for your pool!

You might consider shopping around. Our pool has similar specs, similar location and was about 30k less

Wow, that seems really expensive with no spa! Did you check other builders in the area? We are going with Premier pools and we got all of the above with spa and more for under that cost. You should get a few more quotes.

Do you have a local HOA mail-list? I have several homes with pools in my neighborhood and have been using them for a lot of my questions.

Thank you all for responding. Original quote for $72k is from Aquos pools. We have heard great recent reviews of Aquos pools so we started there. Also they built a pool for my parents 25 years ago for $20k. Thanks for the tip Kim on finding sub's. Captain Cannonball, may I ask who built your pool? Edrn, we have spoke with one other builder Liquid FX and he quoted us with a rough estimate of 60k-80k for a natural rock pool vs ledgestone pool. I'll check with Premier pools, but i just started the process of an Owner-builder pool with a pool designer/draftsman this morning.

PoolGate, unfortunately I have no HOA to rely on. We live outside town in a rural area of California. A neighbor/friend just finished a large pool, 30'x50' 12 feet deep natural rock pool, for $100k plus. Our budget is around $55-60k. They didn't have any glowing reviews for their builder so I didn't pursue.
