Overflow drain recommended landscaping / drainage?

Hi,

Our pool was recently completed and we are working on landscaping at this time.

What type of drainage landscape do you guys recommend around an overflow drain (gravel, river rocks, mulch and bushes, etc.) ?

Also, any recommendations for a deck drain drainage? It is right next to our paver door pad.

I attached a picture after a big rain. We have a pretty good slope, so I'm not worried about sitting water. Just worried about erosion around the pool deck.

You could do a gravel pit around it with some bushes or just grass will start to grow around it within a month
