Outdoor 50 amp breaker trips when pump tries to start

My electrician changed the 60A indoor circuit breaker on my breaker panel because the pin holding the two poles of the breaker broke. He replaced it with a 50A breaker that had a sturdy clasp over the two poles. After he did that I tried running the hot tub with the dip switch #10 setting to the high amp (50A) setting. My hot tub is now working exactly as it should! Does that make sense?
