Hey everyone I'm looking for some opinions and some advice from the professionals out there... I am planning on doing a thread of the complete build with pictures when it's all said and done but for now I'm in a hold up so here's my question... I'm burying my pool 27" into the ground. It's a 24' Saltwater LX... I hired someone to excavate down to flat earth and in the process got taken advantage of cause they started and never showed back up... But it's alright cause I did get my hole dug "just not perfectly like I wanted" they went down like almost 30" and didn't get it level... but I received a lot of nice and pricey landscaping tools free in the process <--- (Because he never came back) I've tried calling and calling him multiple times but he's ignoring me and he only got a 1/4 of his pay so I received more than I paid him in just the tools he left...[emoji23] But anyways back to my question... I live in Corpus Christi, Texas and down here we have a really hard clay dirt mix very very hard to dig!!! So what I did this past weekend was try to finish the pool... So to help get it level I used 6 yds of select fill to help me get it level which came out to be around a 2" to 3" base completely leveled out to within a 1/16" around the whole hole... I used a Vibratory Plate Compactor and compacted till it didn't move anymore and was completely solid like concrete... So I set up the base of my pool to a perfect 24' circumference and staked it down with a few nails to hold it in place like the manual says to do, So I can be ready to add the sand and put up the wall the next day and completely finish the pool... Well to make a long story short I was stopped short of finishing because we had a bad storm come in out of nowhere that night and it filled the hole with a foot of water or more... Now I'm assuming that all the leveling work I just did just got ruined and im gonna have to start over but it was compacted so I don't know? How long do you think I'm gonna have to wait after all the water recedes and it looks dry before I can get back in there and start again? Compacting etc...Or tell me what y'all would do? Here are some pictures 3 to 4 days after the rain storm... there's still around 3" to 4" of water in the hole... by the way since my yard is all dirt "well mud" I haven't been able to get out there and pump out the water like I wanted to...

I'm afraid you are going to have to wait until the ground dries out to see if the site needs to be re-leveled. If it is anything like the clay soil we have in Houston you will want it dry enough to support the weight of the pool but not so dry the ground is baked to a rock-like state.

Man oh man what a mess :(

Yeah you do need to let it dry out. You can use a small pump to pull it out faster. You could then put a box fan blowing on it to help it dry faster.

I hope your bottom will be VERY level now with the water helping smooth is out.
