Opening Vinyl Pool: First Time

When I find where the attachments go do I need to lube the o-rings and then put them on?

Yes, I will have a million questions... 🤣

Yes use the lube on any rubber o-rings. The filter is the big black plug. There is a drain in the center of the bottom and one on the back. (One is missing) Then the other two are heater and pump. They have 2 each also so fine the hole. Check your manual or download them if you can't locate the spots. (y)

So take off the o-rings and gently dab them around with the lube? But the black screw cap doesn't need it?

You can take the o-rings off as they are new. In a year or 3 you may ruin them by pulling on them. So I always left mine on and just dabbed with a finger. Covid gloves realllllly come in handy here.

I found the filter plug to be pretty stubborn so I lubed those threads. Its a different type of plastic than the rest. The side plug is on your right side down low, after looking at your pic again. Mine had an o-ring so I'm guessing you have the bottom plug out.

Yes. It ironically has no bearing on the test, which is lucky for us or we'd have no idea how to SLAM all those black swamps.

Then open the returns in the pool. Do they just twist off?

Then after those are done do I just open the levers to let water from the pool into the pipes?

Yup. Remove the gizmos/ skimmer plugs and return plugs to do so. Keep them for next year.

fill the pump basket
It will suck it out in a flash but the water left will help keep the pump cool for the time it takes to prime, hopefully 15 seconds or so. If it doesn't prime in 45 seconds or so, shut it off, fill the basket and try again.

Also lube up the basket lid gasket.

I'll check the basket lid gasket. Anything else?!?
