Hi Everyone!

I should have left my pool open this winter because it has been so mild but I had a pool company close it to avoid any issues since the initial reports showed it was going to be a cold winter.

My pool company operates on a schedule and I’m not scheduled to be open until late March, which is too late for me. My water is already warming up and I want to get ahead of Spring and go ahead and get it open.

I’ve never done this before so I was hoping someone could make sure I’m doing the right steps and following the correct process. I’ve watched about 20 videos on YouTube and I feel like this is something I can do without a pool professional, just need some reassurances.

I’ve attached pictures of how my equipment looks right now.

  • Is there a specific order I need to do things in, besides turning the electricity?
  • Do I need to do anything with the returns? They look normal and it doesn’t appear they are plugged?
  • Do I need to do anything with the media in the filter (zeosand)?

    Thank you!

You absolutely can do it by yourself. As you wait for more specific replies, here is the TFP page in case you missed it before. It does a good job capturing the essentials. Remember, if the water temp is still below 60, you'll probably treat your pool as a non-salt for for FC/CYA Levels purposes until the SWG can operate in warmer water.
