As title states, opened on Saturday and this is the condition as of this morning. I've never had a pool end up where it isn't cloudy at all but there is still green in the water. My numbers are good, except for low alk right now. I thought maybe metal but testing at Leslie's shows no issue. I've been shocking it morning and evening for the past two days per Leslie's instructions but it seems to have stalled at this point. Running filter 24/7 and backwashing it regularly.

Welcome to TFP! While you appear to still have algae, I would guess you also have an iron issue, even though the local store showed none. Not only is their testing not accurate, iron testing gets wonky once chlorine is added. Are you seeing any signs of stains yet? Are you on a well?

As for ensuring there is no algae, that requires a SLAM Process using either a TF-100 or Taylor K-2006C test kit to maintain the required levels. Store testing won't do it. It's time to cut the pool-store cord and test your own water. You'll be glad you did.

Also see our Pool Care Basics for lots of valuable information. Enjoy the forum. :swim:

What is the process for removing the iron?
In short, remove as much as you can now with polyfill in the skimmer or via an external bucket filter. See the link below as an example.

Accurate at-home water testing cannot be over emphasized. We recommend the use of either a TF-100 (link in my signature) or Taylor K-2006C test kit. Both are easy to use and very reliable for home owners.
