omg I did it.

Oh kimkats, thats wonderful. Thank you! Im going thru the booklet that came with the test kit, pretty involved. Im having a hard time reading and understanding. So Im taking it test by test. First test I did was the pH test. Looks like its at 7.7.

Well, I tried to do the free and combined chlorine test with the Taylor 2006c. I felt like I was back in high school where I got big screaming red F's in every chemistry course I took. Im scared to death Im getting another F here. I used the 25 ml numbers, added 37 drops to turn the water clear. Does that compute to 7.4 ppm free chlorine? Then I added 5 drops, and it barely barely turned back pink. Then I added just 2 drops to turn it clear again, which then is .4 ppm combined. Is that right? Im so afraid its all wrong and I have to drain the pool and start over. I think those 2 tests are all I can handle for one day.

I SO understand! I so worried I could not do the tests I ordered a test kit BEFORE I agreed to getting a new pool!!! The first time took me a while and I was nervous I would mess it up! Now??? It is easy and a LOT faster.

I can tell you that after a while you will be able to just look at your water and know it needs some love. For me it is mostly the pH has pushed up some. It is not a "shiny" as usual. I do a full set of tests and adjust from there.

Kim :kim: (I sent you a PM)
