Hey all. Just joined this site, although I’ve had my pool for almost 30 years. Better late than never! Have a vinyl lined 18x36 with a 8’ “deep” end with a board and molded stairs at the opposite end. Two skimmers, two returns. Pretty plain as far as the design goes. Hayward EC65 and Superpump single stage. has been a good pool for many years but I’m looking to do an upgrade currently to the chlorination system and go salt. Looking to get any and all tips as I’m going to do this DIY.
thanks for reading, and I’ll be doing a lot on the forum I’m sure!

Hey there Jeff! Welcome to Trouble Free Pools, the number 1 pool care forum on the 'net.

First tip is don't add any salt until you test how much salt your pool currently has. Yup, its got some! Every chemical added leaves behind residual salt.

Next tip is we advise folks to get a SWG that is 2x the pool volume. Helps the cell last longer by not having to work so hard.

Good to have you here.
