Old D.E. triton 2000 with 8 filter grids

If I wanted to replace with another filter what specs should I be most concerned with? I'm thinking at the very least the sq ft of filtration area of my current 8 grids which is 47 sq ft. Thank you for your replys

The bigger the better. That will keep you from having to clean as often.
