Thanks for the sod info. I think we are right on the edge of St. Augustine zone, so will likely be going with Bermuda.
Came home from work last night, and the only item that had been completed was the step tile, badly. My DH couldn't believe the job that was done on the 2" step tile, and he called the PB to come look. Not laid flat, tiles misaligned, meandering from the edge. We were afraid the plaster would be delayed again - nothing like waiting until the last minute, right? However, PB came back at 7:45pm, said that was all normal for pool tiles, it isn't like setting floor tile in your house, but if we were really unhappy he would redo. SMH. He reset the tiles until after dark, so they are better. Unfortunately, the first tile crew was also in charge of acid washing the waterline tile (have had concrete smeared on them) and set a bucket of acid down on the coping - afraid that's also irrevocably damaged. Two big acid rings. I have very strong feelings about these people, but nothing ladylike to say here, so I'll keep my mouth shut.
Masonry crew showed up at 7:30pm to rebuild the planter and fix the stones on the ends of the retaining walls. Quick 45 minutes and they were out. They had been waiting for the last channel drain to be installed just in front of the planter, and they put it in but it was too short by several feet, so we'll call that 75% done.
I've been up since 5:30am worrying about the plaster today. The half dozen things that could have been done to prepare haven't been done, and I have no idea if they will be able to knock it out today. Specifically, there is no electrical running at the pump, all the plumbing lines have been cut, and neither of the pool lights are wired in. The acid they used to clean half the waterline tiles (also not done) they just dumped in the pool, so the epoxy bond coat is worn off in a few big areas. According to PB, that's not a problem, but I have doubts. Also wondering if they will have the gray return fittings ready. I don't want to fill up 35K gal of water just to have it sit, stagnant. Will report back later today - please send all good vibes and positive thinking my way!
