Official 2017 BBQ, Smoking, Grilling, Baking and Beer thread

Looks good! Why are you eating celery when you've got all that beef jerky?

It's the only thing that lets me scoop up gobs of blue cheese dressing...

My next kitchen gadget will have to be a vacuum sealer so that I can oblige mail-order jerky requests...

If you do this and get a good one, I will be very interested. Ours is on its last suck anytime now I'm sure. No clue where to start, but I want one that might put the Operator in danger of sealing himself up.

This one was a gift, and a light duty one (El Cheapo) but it has done us pretty well.

I've always wondered if I'd used it enough to justify buying one. What has been your biggest use of it? Where has it been the biggest help?

If you buy one, and do indeed ship jerky, I would only accept it if I could pay you for it, freight included, which would help offset the cost of your vacuum sealer. No exception to that rule for me. I only wish all of your dishes could be shipped! You and the others on this thread have motivated me to cook more when I have time. Unfortunately work and home upkeep keeps getting in my way. I was kidding when I made the comment about you shipping that jerky. ?

I only accept payments in the form of Dunkin Donuts gift cards ;)

I'm probably going to avoid any major kitchen gear purchases as I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a Dolphin 300i robot...just waiting for Uncle Sam and the State Dept of Revenue to cut me my refund check(s)....

Woohoo! Robot time!

Yep. Monday I call two local pool shops and an out-of-state brick & mortar shop with an online web page to do some price shopping. Hopefully my local shop will be willing to come in at the lowest price since they are an authorized Dolphin repair shop.

I sure love Cousin Eddie (my robot). Has made my life a lot easier.

We buy Ribeye by the roll and slice it ourselves for one. Also special sales meats in some quantity at a great little grocery store and use it for that a lot. I also shoot a good number of birds, Dove and Quail mostly, and use it for that. Once in a Blue moon I get a catch a few fish to package. Leftover Crawfish tails, and some odds/ends but that pretty much covers it.

Once you vac seal this kind of stuff, its hard to go back. We've actually gotten a lot of good from this one.
