Nutgrass Killer

I am replacing my liner and would appreciate any comments on how to prevent nutgrass from growing through the liner.

When I first put my pool in many years ago, I used ProTeam Zap Zit in the sand. It appears that ProTeam now calls it Blast It. Has anyone used these? The active ingredient is Dichlobenil. Has anyone used a generic version? What about other products?

Also does a pad such as Armor Shield or Gorilla Pad or polystyrene insulation foam panel stop nutgrass? I've heard yes and no answers.

I used a Home Depot tarp and a gorilla pad to prevent anything from growing thru. I didn’t use any chemicals.
