That should be fine.
It is dissolving some but not very rapidly. I’ve been doing what some other folks have said that they’ve done is every half an hour to an hour squeeze the bag and it breaks it down pretty quickly.

do I need to run my pump for 24 hours after adding stabilizer?

CYA can vary by manufacturer. keep squeezing and it should dissolve. Or leave overnight in the skimmer, same effect.

Is there a certain time of day that's best to test my pool water?
Doesn't really matter. What matters is that when you test, you are in range on your FC for your CYA. Link-->FC/CYA Levels

I PREFER to test in the evening. That is when the FC is likely the lowest. If you have to raise your FC higher, so that you are always in range for your FC demand, then do that.

Right On! Thanks!

Hello, I hope I haven’t screwed something up but I just ran a test on my water and the colors are pretty dark. Also, where do I record the results from the chlorine (yellow) side, in the app? For some reason I can’t remember where/how I did it ..............LOL!!! Thanks IMG_4145.jpeg

I don’t know if I asked this before but, how long do I wait to retest water after adding a chemical?
Once you have a good pool volume, there is generally no need to retest until your next test on your basic pool care schedule.

When you are adding products that you want to "creep up to a result," with products that cannot be removed without draining (CYA, CH, Salt), wait 24-48 hours after adding to retest.

If you are still early in your testing and are re-testing to confirm your pool volume, 30 minutes after adding chlorine or muriatic acid, with pump on, is sufficient.

Hello, I just logged my most recent test and my calcium level is very high. The app states that I need to replace 85% of my water. Does that mean I have to drain the pool? The water looks fine and I don’t see any calcium buildup along my waterline tile. Some advice/expertise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Something is not right...14 days ago you reported your CH was 500. It would be near impossible for your CH to rise so dramatically in 14 days. Did you add any calcium products to the pool?

Clean your test vial with rubbing alcohol, and do the CH test again. Slowly add drops. Keep the reagent vertical, squeeze GENTLY and allow the drops to form and drop under their own weight. Keep adding drops until the color does not change, subtract that last drop.

Hello, yes, I was confused by the high levels also. I’ve only added muriatic acid, salt, and stabilizer (CYA), based on the app’s recommendations. I will try cleaning out the cylinder with rubbing alcohol and test again.
