It seems as though my pump (Pentair Challenger) is running louder than normal. I keep the filter basket emptied weekly. Also noticed an issue in which my multi valve has a pinhole leak, which is another issue requiring some repair. Other than basket checks, I have never broken pump down further for any PM work. Pump was here when we moved in so at least 2 years old but probably older.
