I have a new Hayward Pool Filter, Pump, Laterals, and Center Pipe. When I turn the pump on “filter” it works fine. My PSI has never been above a 10

On “waste”- it pulls from pool, out the discharge line and also out the jet.

On Backflush and rinse- the motor sounds like it is running but is not pulling any water from the pool nor any activity in the pump basket. No water come out discharge line.

I did remove the multiport valve and checked the spider gage and all is good. If the pump is sucking water on filter and recirculate but not backflush and rinse could it be the impeller?

Welcome to TFP! Sounds like your plumbing hoses (In & Out) might be connected backwards. Double-check. If you're not sure, post some pics of your equipment pad so we can see the filter, plumbing lines/hoses, and hos everything is connected.

Also take a pic looking down at the mpv showing the intake, return , & waste lines so we can see the orientation

Yeah, I think you may have your hoses backwards to the multiport valve. Double check. Not sure if your MPV connections are marked to say IN or OUT. But I believe the hose leaving the pump going up to the filter should be on the top intake.

I am so sorry guys, I feel like an idiot, I hope I didn’t waste your guys time.
No worries. Glad to help. This time of year, MANY owners do the same thing, so you're in good TFP company. Based on your initial description of what was happening, I had a feeling that was it. More common than you would think. If that's the extent of your problems all season, you're doing good. :swim:

To switch the hoses I should obviously turn off the pump. Close off the skimmer and jet. Should I drain my sand filter tank?
No need to drain filter.
just block off the skimmer & return with plugs if possible. Large rags that can’t get sucked in will work in a pinch.
I used to use a small ball (bigger than the hole) for the skimmer before i added a valve.
You’ll probably get a little wet!
