No pressure after sand replacement

So I have the port open to open and gave it another shot. I have a really good flow going and backwash working perfectly. I shut off after two minutes and put it on rinse. Pressure went down and nothing happens. Back to backwash and back to original issue nothing happening. This makes no sense now.

As soon as I put it to filter it won’t run anymore and loose pressure. Could it have anything to do with clorinator? I try to get backwash to work again and now can’t get that back.

Unlikely. That's a tiny 1/4" tube that only pushes water from the pressure side.

As James noted above, did you get a chance (or are you able) to reverse that MPV label so that you know for sure what setting you are actually in?

I got everything right and got the right sticker when I went to pool place for lube. I can get a strong flow on backwash. Once I switch to rinse i loose it and filter i loose it. Then I go back to backwash and not that’s not working. I think it’s time get a pro even though their super busy now. I wanted turn filter one since got standing water in pool now.

Did you answer JamesW question in Post 58 on the standpipe being covered when sand was added?

Gee, quite a story here. After seeing that water does indeed flow well (although only at certain filter settings), but then quits when you move the MPV selection, I can't help but wonder if something's not right in that filter - either the valve itself, position, or internally from when everything was disassembled then reassembled following the sand replacement. When you disassembled it for the new sand, did you do anything with MPV itself? Take it apart, mess with the spider gasket, anything like that?

Let's make sure other questions were addressed from earlier:
- From Post 58; was the standpipe covered when sand was added?
- Is the poolside skimmer running dry at all?
- Could there be a stuck weir door?

Additionally:
- Did you ever run the system previously before changing the sand?
- Was Backwash the only setting that seemed to work intermittently? Did any other settings maintain water flow?

Also, I'm posting this very short 1 min video. I don't doubt you know how to backwash, but it's such a short/simple video, I would like for you to watch carefully the "details" in this set-up. Make note of the handle position on his Hayward in relation to the in/out pipes because your MVP is positioned sideways and you had to rotate the sticker once already. So look at the video details closely to see if there's ANY chance something is different on your set-up.

So pro came out today and looks as if the gasket between motor and basket area is leaking water. He didn’t have it so I just picked one up. He ran into same issues but finally got pump circulating in pool.

So this has been quite an opening experience. So far I recall:
- MVP label backwards
- Silicone not applied to several O-rings
- Wet seal on pump

Kind of tough to track everything down at once, but systematically various items were resolved. You should be in much better shape. Hope the seal is the final piece of the puzzle. Good luck!

Glad they got it working! Any chance you can share final picture of working handle position's? For future troubleshooting reference? Thanks!

Well bad news once again. This pool is about to be backfilled with cement soon...lol. I had to get a new motor installed. The tech did so 3 days ago. I have had the filter running few hours a day. Today i went out to clean it and i have sand in the pool. needless to say the filter was putting sand back in. I removed all the water from the filter and vacuumed the pipe inside and removed any sand in there. I run the filter and i put a skimmer next to the return and have no sand being pumped in. However now how do i get this sand out? I also noticed that when i put this on backwash i dont get good solid pressure.
