I am in the same boat, for some reason this year. We have had a lot of rain but i have tried to boost 3-4 times but the test results still show no chlorin. I shocked it today but not sure I want to use the shock method once a week.

Unit has been installed for 5 years, I have cleaned the cell which looks good, cables look good. Next steps would be the flow sensor?

Here are the test results from the pool company

Free Chlorine 0
pH 7.8
Alkalinity 133 ppm
Adjusted Alkalinity 122 ppm
Calcium Hardness 109 ppm
Cyanuric Acid 37 ppm
Total Iron 0 ppm
Copper 0 ppm
Phosphate 1890 ppb
Salt 2611 ppm

24 000 G pool

PJ,

Chlorine is consumed by the sun and algae.. If you have algae, or your water is cloudy, then most likely the algae is consuming all the chlorine that the cell can make.

Most cells last 5 to 7 years, so your cell could be bad, but I doubt it is.

What kind of salt system do you have?? 2600 ppm is too low for my SWCG to operate.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Like Jimrahbe, I have a Pentair IC40 and the minimum is 2800. So, if you have a Pentair cell, that may be it.

If that is within range for your SWCG, do an OCLT (Overnight Chlorine Test). My water was also clear and my CC was 0, but my SWCG wasn't maintaining my FC (kept dropping to 0). When I ran an OCLT I found that I was dropping 2ppm overnight. Now I'm in the process of a SLAM.

Also, you may want to add a signature so that people can see what equipment you have.

What SWG are we discussing?

Sounds like you have an algae problem consuming all the chlorine your cell produces.

Thanks for the information Jim and sorry for the late reply.
I have a Nature 2 Fusion Soft 1400 system.
After many hours of troubleshooting I missed the obvious, the cell center pin is disconnected from the pin. It has to be replaced, I tried to somehow repair it but can't or 'I' cant.

If true, then you should have been getting error codes. Did you get error codes?
