New pool owner here. I opened my pool a week and a half ago and was following pool store advice. My tf 100 test kit just came and no chlorine is showing up. How should I proceed?

Not necessarily, but don't worry about that test for now. Run all the other tests and then we'll advise you to put some liquid chlorine in there to get you started.
You'll want to do the CYA test again with the extended-dilution-test instructions here: Water Testing Instructions - Further Reading
And you'll have to replace some pool water as CYA/100+ requires far more chlorine to keep clear/safe/clean then is reasonable.
Not doing it wrong, was it 60 with the diluted instructions? That means your level is 100-120
Maybe my eyes are playing games with that black spot. Could you define exactly what it means not to see it?

Did you do the test outside, back to the sun, test tube at waist height? Fill to each line and see if you can see the DOT. If not go to the next. Glance in, don't stare.
Be sure to have CYA in front, so that anyone coming in to the thread knows what the number is for

You're going to need to do a partial water exchange or drain (depending on what type of pool you have) to bring your high number down.
