I am new to this app and I can't find how much liquid chlorine 10% to use in my 7000 gall above ground pool. help right now my FC is 1-2---- pH is 6.8------TA is 40-80------
and CYA-ZERO
F/C still at 1 now CYA OVER 150. I added 1/2 bottle liquid chlorine 10% and ph increaser 24 hrs ago. Ran pump all night. I just want to get in with my baby granddaughters. Test kit is HTH multi purpose 6-way test strips. Btw I have berm keeping pool covered with a solar blanket to try to warm it up.....Now what?
Unfortunately the test strips you are using are very unreliable. If you haven't added any CYA or any dichlor/trichlor then there's no way it went up from your last test, but it just shows how inaccurate test strips can be.
My recommendations are:
- Fill your signature in (see this link: Create Your Signature - Further Reading). Knowing what kind of pool, size, equipment, testing methodology, etc. you have are crucial for us to be able to offer advice for your situation.
- Get a decent test kit, either a Taylor K-2006c (the 'c' is important as it gives you more of the chemicals we often use) or a TFT-100. This will let you figure out what your CYA actually is.
If your CYA really is that high you'll need to exchange a lot of the water. How does the water look now?
