Thanks Casey. I'll wait for the water level to rise near where the new openings will go before installing the skimmer and return port. I'll give an update after it's up and running and hopefully without any leaks.

How did the liner do in the scooped out portion of the pool floor? I read the liner link and it describes it as being for a "flat bottomed pool" so I wondered?

Thanks YippeeSkippy. Where did you see it being a flat bottom liner? I reread the product page again and did not see it anywhere. I hope I'm not in deep doo doo and the liner will hold. I'm on a bored well and I have to just trickle in water and the water level is up to 16" in 2 weeks time. We were playing on trucking in 7,000 gallons for $300.00 but I don't know now. I may just continue to trickle fill and see what happens a month from now. This has been a very costly learning experience especially if the liner doesn't hold.

EDIT: I measured the center depth and it's 60". I called save more on pools and the customer service rep said he didn't think it will hold but gave me an extension # to talk to their pool pro. It's Sunday so I had to leave a message. I stopped adding water started thinking that I can save a lot of money by draining the pool and remove part of the liner and fold it back to where I made the patch repairs and add sand in the middle. My next question is...can I safely remove the unibead on the opposite side of the patches without damaging the liner? Man, what a pool start-up season for me!

I'm not even sure I follow. The liner is the wrong wall height? Is it a fold over or lock liner
How are the walls looking? Are they bowed? Do you have any slack between the wall n liner? Is the liner pushed up against the wall? Check the liner in the bead track. Is it secured?
The liner has the correct wall heighth(52") but is a flat bottom pool liner. My pool is 60" in the center.
The bead seems secure and the liner is against the wall at the water level but there's 1-2" space between the liner and wall above that and it's taught like a drum. I don't understand what you mean by the walls bowing.
Are the hard walls of the pool straight or are they starting to flex or bend?
Just an update. I talked to the supplier's head pool tech and he said it's not going to happen. If I want to risk my patched areas he suggested draining what water is in there and remove the liner and fill in the center with sand. He also said to relocate the patched areas so that the new holes for the skimmer and return are not cut on those patched areas. We are out of pocket too much to buy a new liner and have water trucked in. I turn 60 in July and I'm a maintenance technician by trade. I thought with u tube videos etc. I would have any major issues but I guess I'm getting old and not the sharpest tool in the shed anymore. I REALLY appreciate you fine folks chiming in to lend a hand. I'll repost if and when I get the pool up and running. Best wishes.

Vacuum the liner when u do it. I would think it would stretch that little slope what mil is the liner?
25 gauge and yes I'll vacuum like I did this time. I was hoping that it could handle the slope but I just can't risk it. Too much damage could be done downstream of a blowout.

Well, I decided not to risk it and bought yet another liner. I filled in the center with 25 bags of topsoil and shoveled a good thick layer of sand on it after tamping. Tamped the sand and now my pool is a flat bottom pool. I installed the new liner(with vacuum running until the bottom filled and there's no wrinkles) and my water (7,000 gallons) will be trucked in next Saturday. THEN I'll install the skimmer basket assemble and return. Whew, what a hassle not to mention I'm having health problems.

SO no water yet? I would find a way to stake the whole pool so there is not chance of the wind or anything causing problems with the pool walls.

That is the last thing you need.All up and running with no issues. We went into it for the 1st time today. Thank you fine people for your input and support. I hope it hold for many years because I'm 60 and don't think I'll want to mess around with it again. Best wishes and caviar dreams as they say(though I hate caviar).
