Hi everyone, my name is David, and I stumbled Across the term “CYA” when I googled why I was having to add more and more powdered chlorine (shock) to my pool every year. From that research, I came across this site, emptied 75% of my pool water, and switched to LC. I never looked back. The pool not only looked better, but the water felt better (not as brittle) too.
in February (we live in California), we are having the pool re-plastered, so I’m thinking I forgo the “pool closure“ process, until everything stabilizes. Is that the right thinking?

Hello David and welcome to TFP! Nice to hear you are doing so well now with TFP principles. As for closing, just outside of SAC, you should be just fine keeping the pool open. Chlorine use will drop significantly, and you should have no hard freeze issues to be worried about. If you have a freak winter storm, just keep the water moving. But let us know if you have any other questions.
