Newb Question

With your travel schedule, I would recommend that you get a Salt Water chlorine generator...will make your life MUCH simpler...

you have no idea how nervous I am.
Why? You got this....

When you get a chance, pictures of the pool, and a few different shots of the equipment area will help a lot. Especially if we can see the routing of the various pipes.
Even better - if you can figure out the make/model of the filter, pump, other items (heater, etc.) type of construction (plaster, tile, vinyl liner) and gallon capacity - edit your signature here to avoid us from repeated asking. Don't worry if you don't know what something is - we can help identify.
How's it look? Perfectly clear? A bit hazy? Stuff on the bottom? Did he go over any of the basic how-tos to operate the equipment?

I’ll back down to house tomorrow get all that info. Pool water looks great nice and clear. Nothing on bottom.

Then there is little to be nervous about. Just getting water replaced to bring the CYA down, do a retest, and perhaps a slight chem adjustment if needed, and you will be set!

Chlorine - 6.0
PH - 7.0
ALK - 60
CH - 120
CYA - 60

I did some light brushing on vynil I saw a couple of algae small globs.
I have a vinyl liner - there is yellow stain in a couple areas. It wouldn’t brush off so I didn’t think it was algae.

A couple of notes:
1)previous owner never backwashed.
2)previous owner cleaned pool filter properly on his own
3)used pucks
4)filter/pump set to run 10-4PM each day
5)vacuum 10-2PM

Equipment -
Hayward Booster Pump model 6060
Hayward Pro-Grid D.E. Filter
Hayward Selecta-flo valve
Hayward H Series H400 Hester

Yep, FC a little low, but other than that, looking good.

You were concerned about needing to constantly add Cl on a daily basis, and hard to do when not being around the house.

Puck use can help with that - with a BIG caution.
They slowly add CYA. For your pool, each puck will raise it 1 ppm. As it rises, you need more and more FC. Usage rate of the pucks varies a lot, but it is possible yours will go through 1-2 a day. Some (I did) have a feeder for them - essentially a pipe with a lid you drop many in, and can regulate the flow to maintain the FC needed. So one can go days or a week without playing with the chemicals.
But over the course of say a summer, your CYA could rise from 60 to 160 (yikes!) Backwashing and rain will help lower it some. But the only real way to drop it is to replace a lot of the water with fresh. The almost-always result of too high CYA is a green pool, as it becomes impossible to maintain the high FC levels needed.
There are cheap pool floaters that pucks get put in, that float around the pool. You may think about getting one, and take a modified approach. Use liquid Cl when home, and throw in the floater for when you are away (if no one else can be talked into helping while you are gone). Take it out when you return. That would slow down the rate that CYA builds up. But it is pretty imprecise adding of Cl, so there is a risk that the level goes too low, and the pool turns green....
But it could get you through until you are ready to learn more about, and can tackle, installation of a Salt Water Chlorine Generator.

When you adjust pool with chemicals how do you do it? As in do I just dump liquid chlorine in when needed or is there a certain way? Should o do it in deep or shallow end? Should I walk the perimeter and dump? Should I do it with pump running or without? How about borax? I guess the question is when I put anything chemical into the pool what are the do and don’ts.
