Newb question - What chemicals to buy?

If the water is crystal clear and your FC loss is in the normal range, follow normal maintenance.

If you every have cloudy water or high FC loss, do an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

What about when pH creeps up a bit, I add some muriatic acid to bring things down a bit. But over time, the TA will drop as well, and that will get low and out of range? So how do to manage that over time?

Fill water will add some TA. If you have little TA being added, your pH will not rise.

Thanks. Generally no need to add fill water and pool is safety covered so no significant rain water gains entry.

So if fill water isn’t an option, what else should be considered?

It ticks up every week, a tenth or so every week? So I’ll lower it to 7.5 and it’ll get back to 7.8 in a few weeks. I figured with use this would be normal?

Let it rise to 8 before adjusting to 7.8. I suspect it will stabilize at 7.8 to 8. As long as you let TA balance with it.
