Well, I had several posts last year about construction ideas, plumbing tips, etc....all related to the idea of adding a waterfall to the side of our pool. We had a pipe plumbed when we built but didn't know what to build or how to build it.

Anyway, here is what we came up with. I built the frame out of pressure treated 4x4 and 2x4. Secured to the deck using tapcon's. Covered in concrete board, wire mesh, a skim coat and finally the veneer stone.

It's very quiet when running. It gives the kids (and me) and nice jumping platform too.

And I can turn it on/off using the EasyTouch app on my phone.

V,

As SpringPool points out, making it look like it has always been there is the real key to adding any kind of water feature... And you nailed it!!!

I saw the title of your thread and honestly expected to see the standard out-of-place, pile-of-rock, waterfall... Glad I was mistaken.. :p

Thanks for the pics...

Thanks all. I did not remove the coping...it's sitting on top of the concrete. We added this in our 2nd year with the pool...but when the pool was being built, I had the builder include one extra support on that side of the pool.

Have never done masonry work in my life. My wife and I just started mixing up the mortar and finding stones that would fit. Hardest part was doing the front and trying to keep falling mortar out of the pool! It kept Robi (our dolphin cleaner) quite busy! We chose stone that matches the back side of our house. It's a mix of field stone and stack stone -80/20.

The pool is 7' deep and there is a strict feet-first rule when jumping off the waterfall. We have a very gradual slope (smaller shallow end) but I still worry about divers.

This is awesome.. 100% awesome. If my budget wasn't busting at the seems i'd asking for a line plumbed in for something like this too. I've heard if you have a return in the area you can basically do this no issue, truth?

Love this! The is exactly what I'm wanting my hubby to build later for ours. We are DIY'ers by nature. We've built two houses, renovating our current 45yo house and love taking on projects. Our builder doesn't charge extra to put another plumbing line in. We are already having one added for a future slide. Soooo.... my question is... what all is involved in the mechanics of the water feature? What goes inside that stone thing to make the water pump out? what is it connected to, etc. I've tried youtubing it without luck.
