Hi all I just had this pump installed had a Hayward pump and filter that died. 1.5 inch pipes. They left it on factory settings. I've read through some of the posts and settings seem to go buy. 1. How long you want to skim. (usually have solr cover) 2. And just recirculating water through filter. Where should I start? I was thinking 4 hours skimming at 2500 and 4 hours recirculating at 1500. Any input would be helpfull .
Have new Sand filter Pentair SD60. Chlorine. Plenty of sun most of day. New England.
Is 3450 to high priming speed to high?

Fi,

I would try priming at 2800..

Unless you have a problem with skimming, there is no reason to run faster than 1500 RPM.. but, each pool, and pool owner, is different, so whatever works for you is the right answer.

My pool runs at 1250 RPM, most of the time.

Time wise, again up to you.. From 3 hours a day, up to 24/7.. There is no right, or single, answer.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thanks you. I'll try that. First I need the pool company that installed the filter and pump to return and find the leak as I'm getting major bubbles. The pool originally was opened by them then filter went. No bubbles on previous pump. Lucky I haven't paid them yet.

I don't utilize the priming feature as my system stays charged. My SuperFlo has three programmable settings. My pool system does its best skimming starting at 2200 rpm so it now starts in the morning at 2400 rpm for 2 hours, then drops down to 1300 rpm for 7 hours then finishes at 2400 for two hours. The hours shorten in the winter and no freeze issues here.
I have the the quick clean over-ride set to 2500 if I need additional skimming or when I need to add chems after the pump is off or slow.
