Hi all, I new to the forum and we're in the process of getting quotes from PBs in the Orlando area. I've read quite a few threads on builds and I must say I've learn so much since I've never owned a pool!

In any case, what should I be looking out for when choosing a builder and picking out options? We have a slim idea of what we want, but nothing concrete, I suppose we'll see what the builders come up for us. Thank you in advance!

HI! FLORIDA in the house! SWEET!

The best thing you can do is check the references of all PB before you even meet with them. Ask to see some work from last year and a few years before that. Ask the owners if they would hire them again. The answer to that will tell you all you need to know!

Once you get your plans share them with us here. Make sure you have details on the equipment-kind and model. We will pick it apart for you!

You can start by share a pic of where the pool is going.

Photo BOMB to the max LOL!

That is quite a slope for sure. That will add a layer to the build for sure.

That is quite a bit of land behind you! Who owns it? Will anyone be able to build back there?

I've talked to a second PB, and I have a question about heating. Should I get gas heater or a heat pump? We have natural gas coming into the house and we're in the central Florida area. Since we've never had a pool, we don't really we'll use the spa/pool. Any advice is appreciated!

I sort of wished my yard had an aggressive slope like that, it gives you really cool opportunities!

You can use the slope to have a swim up bar at the far end. A sunken fire pit with an infinity edge, so it looks like your pool flows into a fire pit!

You have a heck of a yard just waiting for the gem to top it off!
