8 yr old 24’AG, 13600g, chlorine, sand filtration. I had a 21’ dble drain ag pool at the old location.
Recently purchased this home w/ag pool. It was not taken care of. In March I attempted to get rid of green algae by continuous shocking. I brought back the pool but did not focus on proper levels. In May I had another algae bloom. I resorted to the shock therapy ( about to drive me nuts!) again. I posted the pics. This is when I found this site and realized how wasteful/expensive the chemicals were. Overall I used 24 1# bags of shock, algicide, floc etc. Ugh!! The total cost, equipment, minor repairs and sand replacement included, just for the three months here cost me over $700!!! For that I’m not a happy swimmer but I’ll follow the better advice I’ve received here from now on.
