Plz look for a PM I just sent. 
Plaster/gunite pools, smaller in size (think 10-12,000 gallons). Had a salt-water system but I disabled it because I just found it easier to use chlorine tabs. All the controller equipment is Polaris EOS, era 2004-2005 or so. The issue is the date/time keeps advancing on its own, jumping ahead, hours, days, and months. This means my preset programs don't run when I want them to.

That's something we don't hear very often. Sounds like the system you currently have is outdated and frustrating. There are certainly many more reliable units available today that may make pool life much easier for you.
be careful with those tabs. They increase the CYA rapidly. If you don't keep the FC elevated to that higher CYA as noted on the FC/CYA Levels, you set yourself up for a problem. If you have any questions let us know.
