New to SW pools….Question about Travertine tile

We live in Southern Tennessee where finding someone who knows pools is impossible.
I have a 12x24 fiberglass pool with a wide lip and need professional advice as to applying both Travertine tile coping around the pool, and the deck. What type of mortar or concrete I need that will not crack my pool edge. Zone 7…..Do I need a special type mortar for laying Travertine? Travertine is 12x24 x1.5” thick
Is there any instructional video in this group that actually went through the process? …..

Welcome to TFP.
Most fiberglass pools are anchored to the ground with about a 3 foot wide concrete collar. What does the manufacturer of the pool say about it?

Mine hasn't any collar per se, but the decking is concrete and it rounds into "coping" up to the edge. That "lip" gets covered so it looks more like a plaster pool. Here are pics while still under construction.
