Hi all,
ive been a pool owner for about 18 years. The last 3 have been a fiberglass saltwater pool. The pool is good until about mid July, it’s then that it seems to start to develop light algue. We do use a solar cover if the evening temp drop but it’s uncovered most of the time to help prevent the algae from growing.
No I do not have any kind of home testing kits.

Welcome to the forum! :handshake:

You do need a test kit. Without it, you will not be able to manage your water using TFPC.

Order a TF100 test kit
The only other real option for a test kit is a Taylor K-2006-C. Be careful comparing prices because the K-2006 comes in sizes, designated by a letter. The basic K-2006 has .75oz bottles. You need to get the K-2006-C to get the larger bottles that you want. Even then it is a little short on the reagent & powder for the FAS/DPD test.

I also have the SpeedStir. It makes testing much easier.

Once you receive the kit, run all the tests and post up the results. You will need to SLAM Process as you have active algae.

I suggest you read Pool School - ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry and consider reviewing the entire Trouble Free Pool School book.
