Pressure washers are fine so long as you're not an idiot. Start back some and slowly move in closer and you'll find the sweet spot of becoming clean without stressing the pleats too much.
I'm sure it's exactly what you did. Lol.
Had you shocked, nothing would have grown and therin lies the conundrum.
But yeah, you're seeing the small filter in action right now. A filter that's 3x as large would go 3 times longer. Which still isn't great depending on how bad the algae is, but it's something. With no algae, the large filter will go months and months. Many of us don't even need to clean it each season, but we do for good practice at least once.
Gotcha. Yeah I'm excited for the new pump/filter/swg/light coming this week.
Water is looking far more clear now, but even after some brushing the plaster has a green/brownish tinge to it.
I'm going to assume it's just more iron that deposited, unless it takes more time for the algae to clear.
Chlorine is holding nice and high.
I might try putting some ascorbic acid in a sock and rubbing it on some of the spots to see if it removes the stains, if so it's just more iron.
Kind of disappointing, I thought I had done pretty well, however that doesn't appear to be the case lol.
