Hey all new to forum, sorry this may be a little long. Never had a pool going through the building process as we speak. Pool builder and workmanship on pool has not been the best to this point. I am a building contractor by trade so understand a lot about construction, but pools very little. At this point trying to learn as much as possible as almost every facet of this, there’s been an issue and thinking about finishing myself. It’s been a pain in the butt getting this guy back to finish tasks. We are building a 32-35k gallon pool + spa. it will be a saltwater pool - shotcrete with tile waterline, coping and will be an aggregate finish. So far I paid the contractor about 80% of the contract price and he still needs to put equipment in, put the aggregate stone scape finish, finish spa from just the shell and Insert lights, & water falls. So at this point if I continue to have issues getting him to finish and I need to finish this on my own and eventually take this guy to small claims, I’m looking to get a little info on equipment and what you all might recommend for this size pool. I have been looking at Haywards brand. 400000 btu NG heater, aquarite salt chlorine system 40000 gal, Tristar vs pump 2.7 hp, and a Cartridge filter, either 150sq ft swim clear or a Star clear or should I go with with the larger capacity ones. Lastly what type of “control center” is needed so I can work all my equipment and lights and waterfalls from my phone. Seems Haywood has quite a few options. Also what cleaner would you recommend for this type of pool finish? The pool is basically a 45x18 Rectangle 9’ of that is a tanning ledge- 3.5’-8’ deep. It has with 3 “bubblers” at tanning ledge, It has 2 water falls on a 5’ vertical wall and a spill over/waterfall from spa. Spa is 8x7 inside walls. When we started he said I’d be able to use the heater for both and I’m not sure if I need a second pump for spa, as that was not talked about. Any additional info you may have I’ll take in. Thanks in advance. Again sorry for long winded message.
