Hi! I am just converting today from chlorine to SWCG (Circupool RJ 60+). The unit was just installed, but not yet powered on as I need to acquire salt and make sure it is balanced first. My question is regarding the balancing, am I balancing for the SWCG levels or the current chlorine? Current:
FC = 8
CYA = 50
Salt = 600 ppm

I know based on the charts that for the salt system it looks like I should have CYA to more like 70 and the FC more like 5. Do I need to balance to that before turning on the SWCG? Or Can I start up with the current balance?

Thanks!

You can start with the current chemistry. In your climate, you may find your CYA of 50 will be sufficient to protect your chlorine. See what FC you need generated each day to keep your FC level at 5 ppm or above. If less than 3-4 ppm is needed each day, you can leave it as is.
