Greetings!

My M-I-L just bought a house with a Tiger Rivers Spa. It appears to be in good shape and working condition. Two questions:

1) Anything particular we should look for as she gets started with it?
2) TF-100 kit still apply or is there a different way to order test kits for a spa as compared to a pool?

Thanks!

Yes, after inheriting a spa at a now home, it should be purged really well. I would recommend performing an Ahh-Some treatment. You won't be disappointed. Once the system is purged and refilled, follow the steps in the link below for a very reliable start-up. Should work well to keep the water clear and sanitized. The TF-100 can be used to test all the parameters. :goodjob:

Thanks @Texas Splash , appreciate the Ahh Some recommendation and reference to the sticky post.

Hey TK !! When you purge it may take 2 cycles to loosen the gunk in the plumbing. Run a couple of cycles with the same water and add half the dose on the subsequent runs. Then run as many cycles as you need. You can scoop out the scuzzy foam when it works and save a few drains before the water gets nasty.

My hot tub needed a few cycles and spewed gunk like no tomorrow. When we moved I ran several cycles through the whirlpool tub and when they came out clean I completely trusted that there was no gunk to get after the 1st experience. Either way you’ll know it’s clean. :)
