If you've been following my saga with my DEAD POOL MOTOR, I've been putting a half gallon of 10 percent chlorine in the pool and jacuuzi each day until I can replace the motor. I just went out to add another half gallon and noticed this (see attached). This is on of the steps in the jacuuzi and it's crumbling! Am I using too much chlorine? Is that what's making it crumble? If so, how much is THIS going to cost me???

Just coincidence.

Had your pool and spa been replastered over a first layer of plaster?

That plaster looks very thin. It has eroded over the years.

You have well worn plaster at the end of its life. Time to begin talking to companies about a replaster with a full chipout.

Gunite is not waterproof. It will start absorbing water over time. I doubt it will be a big leak.

Thanks. Man, this thing is nothing but a money pit. I'm thinking of draining it and filling it up with dirt!
You would not be the first to do that.

Dirt costs money also.
