Question, my ph keeps rising. adding about 1 quart 14.5% muriatic acid daily.
also using only 10% liquid chlorine.

Welcome to the forum!

Great that you have a proper test kit at the start. Good job!

Your plaster is curing. Your pH will rise pretty consistently from that for a year or so. Keep doing what you are doing.

Hi and Welcome!

It is very common for new plaster to push the PH up as it cures. Some pools take as little as 3 months, so as long as a year. What you can do is keep a good log of your test results so you can watch for a pattern. You should start to see the PH settle down over time. Do you know about our Pool Math app? If not look here: Pool Math

After another month or so we will look at your TA and see if we need to bring it down.

Thanks so much gang.
been lurking since day one, using pool math calculator.
Another question, never seeing combined chlorine (chloramines)
never shocked. crystal clear water, no burning eyes or chlorine odor.
very light bathing load.
is this normal?
pool store and many forums recommend shocking every week??
Whats up?
