I decided to do a sodium bicarb start with my new pool. I must have miscalculated the amount of sodium bicarb to add the fill water. my TA is at 440... I read to lowering my PH down to 7.0-7.2 to help combat this. Any recommendations?

Bi-Carb recommends Alkalinity, which should be anywhere from 100 to 350 ppm.

I would reduce your pH to 7.2 whenever it gets to 7.6 until your CSI gets to 0.5. In time your TA will come down. The TA of 440 is a small problem. Don't make a small problem into a big problem trying to fix things.

Have you read...
