Hello! I'm a newbie and so happy to be here, I've never owned a pool in my life until this year. I'm wondering what you all think about my sand filter/pump, Bestway Flowclear model# 58498. Most reviews I've read say they aren't very good but I've also read that getting a pump and filter that are too big is also not good.
What do you all think, is the pump and filter adequate for my size of pool or should I replace them or just one device? TIA!

Hey Jewels and Welcome !!!

The intex style equipment is horribly undersized. I get it. At the price point, it has to be. But even upgrading to double the performance is usually still 5X too small, and for the money spent you don't see the performance you'd hoped for.

It is what it is. When things are going good, it still works. If you have an algae outbreak, it will test even the most patient. All the more reason to ensure you stay balanced. If you don't have one already, purchase a reliable Test Kits Compared and adhere to the FC/CYA Levels at all times. Steer free and clear above minimum at all times and allow plenty of wiggle room for unforseen events such as a particularly high UV loss day, or a big storm.

So I'd save my money and ensure I never had to battle a swamp. :)
