New pool owner - skimmer and pool vac not working

I think the problem was the filter. The guy at the pool store said to take the filter out and turn the pump on. So I did that and got about 10 lb psi on the filter gauge. While the filter was out I sprayed with the high pressure nozzle and put it back and it the gauge measured 10 lb. So I guess I just needed to clean the filter more thoroughly! :confused:
 
Sounds like. If it clogs up quickly again, let us know and I can explain a process to clean it more thoroughly.
