I was stubborn as well. I went through 6 BioActive and ended up draining the pool. I used a sump pump with a 1 1/2" hose going to the clean-out in the house plumbing. It was a nightmare. That's what got me to this site originally. The Chain Pool Store got me to 300+ CYA
P.S. the house clean-out plumbing was in my basement and at some point the hose worked its way out of the drain
