So, we have sod, sprinklers working again, mulch for the tree and the rocks around the equipment pad.

Knowing your tap/fill water is going to be very important for you in the future. You will get to know muriatic acid very well when you have to add water.

I am guessing you are city water with the FC of 2.

Was it fun?

For PH I have a white plate that I hold behind the tube. I pull the plate back and forth until I am sure of the color.

Yes, but I think the chlorine is too high to get in! Right? I feel like I'm reliving my earlier days with my above ground pool. [emoji3]
It does "look" good. Last night I could smell chlorine. But not today. I just did that quick test today in the blue case. Last night I did the longer fun test. I felt like I was in chemistry class. Was (is) there a PH test other than what's in the blue case? Did I miss it?
I love this test kit. There is one in my deck that came with our pool,but I don't know what it has in it. It didn't have CYA. Or chlorine?
So...
It's weird that my water is 2 with no chemicals added. No wonder my PB said it was okay to swim in it right away.
I know I'm going on and on.
I'm just that way. :)
I wanted pavers by the equipment pad, but my husband overruled me. Loving that the dirt is covered up. Our yard guys said it would be best to wait to plant plants or flowers in the flower beds until fall. I really want something there besides mulch. Hmm...
I welcome all advice and comments![emoji3]
And did anyone notice my racer is still on its side?
And did anyone have these weird problems besides me?

Unfortunately, I agree with the landscape people. It's just too hot to plant now. I think you'd be wasting money. The grass, St. Augustine's (?), will be fine with the sprinklers on but I think trying to keep anything else alive that is not established right now is hopeless.
 
Here is a link for what needs what to do what........You might want to at least bookmark it but this IS one I printed out.

Pool School - Recommended Pool Chemicals

It shows what else you can use to lower PH.

Here is a FC/CYA chart. It shows that your water is SAFE to swim in! It is okay to swim in water where the FC is just a tiny bit below SLAM level.

Soda ash raises PH and TA. Your TA is high and will cause your PH to rise. So, you will need to use muriatic acid to lower your PH when it gets to 7.8. It is important to keep your PH at 7.8 or lower, especially in a new plaster pool.

Pool school tomorrow! Then I can start taking control of my little pool. They have been running my pump 24 hours a day for 10 days. That coupled with my AC should make for a hefty electric bill. I'm ready to regulate that a little. [emoji3]
Kim, I didn't print that out, but I did read it. I am beginning to become familiar with the process. I've been reading other people's posts on the other threads regarding pool maintenance and water, etc. and find I ACTUALLY know what they are talking about! Yay! That's progress.

I happened across this thread and read back a bit to see your progress and posts. Looks great and you look very happy! The rocks in your equipment area look good. Big fan of a very neat and properly maintained equipment area. Definitely agree with your landscaper about not planting anything. It's not supposed to be under 100 for 12-14 days yet. You can't water enough to maintain new plants in these conditions. I know the relief we had when dirt got leveled back out in the yard and grass was back in. Gives you a real feeling of finally being done or darn close.
 
Had pool school today. It was so hot! I felt certain I was going to die of a heat stroke. I kept making excuses to go inside.
The young man had to be miserable! He was doing all the work! Plus he fixed my light and emptied my racer. It was full of pebbles. My light got washed out with muriatic acid and it looks good. PH balanced. Cleaned filter. Learned how to use logi tech to
Operate pool features. And finally got to swim! Water was extra hot today...
Turned in a few concerns for warranty. Hope it all gets taken care of.

Janny poor fellow! How did he fix your light? Why was did it have water in it?

So your racer was full from his dinner of pebbles so taking a nap LOL At least now you know what to look for and do.

SWIM???????? IN your pool!!!!!! Sweet! LOL
