New pool, Manor, Texas

Jannylee - I have a white plaster pool and until I discovered TFP and all of you great members, I had no idea how blue it can look when in good shape! I thought originally it was SUPPOSED to be light green! My husband swore the plaster finish must be light green. Ha! We now have a beautifully sparkling blue water pool, albeit with plaster stains, but that's an entirely new thread that I haven't posted yet ..... So what I'm trying to say is be patient! Once your water is correct, it will be beautiful!!

Thanks for these words of wisdom. [emoji3]
Startup in a new pool is stressful. I am really happy to have TFP and all its members to assist me. That was my main goal when joining this site. But it was also helpful having others to talk to about the pool build. This site has helped me so much. Im very grateful to have discovered it!

It has been a blast watching your build and having you on the other threads. Such a sweet person with much to give!

I would have to text that light pic to your PB or find a way to get in there to make sure it is NOT water.

Kim

It looks like water. I did text it to him. But I don't think he got it. He just sent back a message that everything was normal. I get overly worried. Not sure how water could be in there. It has to be a reflection. Hopefully...

I see an iron or dark deposit by the hose. They left it in the bottom of the pool. I texted and asked if I needed to move it he said no on floor. And it's stained for sure. I hate not getting correct information.

I see it :( Well HE will be the one paying someone to dive down and clean it!

That was a lot of water over night! I bet it will be full when you get home!

Kim

Yes, a lot of water! I was excited to see it. Our pool is looking pretty. I had to go out and spend a few minutes with it this morning. Then Mosquitos started biting me. I guess that's normal? Does anyone have that issue and what do you do?

I hope they clean the stain. Maybe it will buff out. And I hope there isn't any water inside the light. The water wasn't up to it so I don't see how unless there is a leak. ??

It's to protect the pool surface so it doesn't get stained or marked up during filling from the end of the hose. PB's don't always (usually) know best. Someone here (me) should have overridden the PB's advice not to put anything on it. Sorry about that if we didn't. But luckily the fix is in him due to his recommendation
So exciting with water!!!

Thanks! Kim warned me! Then I texted him and he said leave it. I guess since the plaster guys did it, they will be responsible. But we will see. I'm sure it's fixable. [emoji3]can you tell I'm trying to convince myself? Lol!

Almost full

I totally get letting worry steal your joy. Don't let it happen! I have to mentally focus on joy in big situations because my auto feeling is stress. The stain is on him to fix as you followed his instructions. I bet it buffs right out

Janny breath and enjoy the fact that you now have a pool with water! AND it is SO pretty!

Everything will work out. It might cost the PB time and effort but...............that is his fault. He WILL take care of it if he wants his last check!

Jannylee - thank you, but I wish I had wisdom! Our water is now gorgeous, but we have a weird discoloration issue. It seems it's always something!

I get bitten terribly by mosquitoes. The best thing I've done is to hire a monthly service to spray our yard this summer. I haven't been bitten once! It's amazing. It's also pretty much "green" as I understand it. Worth every penny!

Thanks! It completely filled at 6:00 a.m. My husband and I watched it all night, taking turns getting up at assigned times. I figured it right on the money based upon its prior progress per hour. That's the math teacher in me coming out. [emoji3]
Found out late yesterday that I have to work all weekend. It's crunch time and have to complete many tasks. So I'm disappointed I won't get to sit and stare at it all day. But we will begin brushing as soon as they arrive and bring brushes (pool service).
It's all good. I'm a little groggy from waking up all night with my "pool baby" but as soon as I get a chance I will send pictures. Of course the water is green now.
